Time For Something Less Crabby

Ok...so I figure it is time to stop being such a "Negative Nancy" and post something that isn't crabby. Don't get me wrong...I am still crabby and will continue to be crabby...but there is no reason that the blog needs to stay crabby.

We did get the bookcases for the playroom...3 different WalMarts later! They look really great, and the organizational boxes and what not came in the mail last night and the room looks just the way I wanted it to. Even Maudee's stuff has it's own special place where she can get to it, but Olivia cannot. Oh I just love being organized! It is like Valium for me!

About 3 months ago...or so...we were at Baby Depot and came across this bedding called "Farm Babies" which is this obscenely cute, cartoonish farm animals. Well, Pauly fell in love with it (he LOVES animals). We carried it around the store while we looked at all the other baby stuff. In the end, we decided we shouldn't spend the money on a second set of bedding.

Well, fast foward to this past weekend. Remember the post below about the crying and the sick of waiting, and just general miserable feeling about Olivia not being home yet? Well, Pauly is right there with me. Sad and miserable and sick of waiting. So we had to go to the WalMart on Rooselvelt Blvd (bookcases mentioned above...this was the 3rd Walmart where we finally struck gold) and Baby Depot is RIGHT next to that WalMart. We decided to stop by and walk around again since we were in the area. Well, wouldn't you know...they still had the "Farm Babies" bedding and the curtains and wall art to match. It was like a sign that Pauly was meant to have this bedding. It still wasn't a smart expenditure of money...but the morale boost it gave Pauly was well worth every dime. We carried it around again...and decided to buy it!

As soon as we got home, we put all of it up in her room just to see how it looks. We didn't bother to wash anything yet as we have a long way to go before a baby is sleeping in there. Add to the new bedding the chair we finally picked up to rock our little peanut at night and read her stories in and the room looks adorable!!! The only thing that needs adjusting is the curtains. I am NOT a fan of tab top curtains, so me and my sewing machine will do a little fixing this weekend. We also wanted the matching hamper, so Pauly ordered it online and hopefully we will have it in a few days. So now we have pretty, feminine bedding, and insanely cute bedding that we can switch back and forth as the mood stikes us!

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

The new chair with the "Farm Babies" quilt. Also...note the front quilt on the rack is one of Olivia's 100 Good Wishes Quilts. This is the one she can use...and the other one is packed away to save.

Close up of the quilt so you can see all the details and cuteness of the "Farm Babies".

So there you go...some sunshine and happiness! Enjoy it while it lasts :-)

Ahhh, retail therapy! It can be rewarding just when you need it. Your rooms look so adorable - Olivia will love them. Sometimes I just bought a new bib, small, inexpensive, but it felt good! Helps to get through the day and over the "stuck in wait" feeling!
Keeping fingers and toes crossed for travel dates!!

Very cute, love the farm animals! Take care of yourself right now, retail therapy does help a little!

PS - I added you to my blog list - I hope that is ok. If not let me know.

Super cute and hey, if it makes you guys smile, then its well worth every penny! The waiting does stink....every single bit of it my friend!
I'm sending big hugs your way!
OH, when time allows I'm going to send you a real email or post something to the board; those tiny snippets of our babies(videos) while precious & lifesavers absolutely don't capture the essence of the real baby.....just you wait....amazing!! And I have goosebumps thinking of your pick up day with Olivia!!
P.S. What a lovely shower your coworkers threw for you!!

I love the image you of both of you walking around the store clutching the bedding and the fact that Paul is just invested in the nesting as you.

Hey - what harm can 2 crib sets do? As we've found out first-hand here, little ones can spew with volcanic ferocity.

The nursery looks great!

That is too precious. LOVE the farm animals. We're going to do a farm party for Kaylie's 1st b-day. We're thinking of you and hoping for some good news VERY soon.
